AASA
stands for the "Asian-American Student Association".
This organization seeks to bring together students of different
Asian/Pacific-Islander backgrounds through social events,
fundraisers, and various activities throughout the year.
Mission Statement:
The Asian American Student Association
shall work to create an understanding and appreciation of
various Asian and Pacific Islander cultures and pursue unification
through social interaction, community service, and campus
development.
What
Do We Do?
AASA highly promotes social interaction
through various activities. Outings include our Annual Ski
Trip, Las Vegas Trip, and Halloween Horror Nights. Events
like AASA Nite Live (our culture/talent/fashion show) and
RICE WARS (a friendly competition among other Asian-American/Pacific
Islander organizations in other colleges) promote networking
and cultivate friendships within and outside of the organization.
AASA also competes in intramural competition among other
organizations and clubs at CalPoly, and has its own sports
teams. If you play basketball, volleyball, football or softball
and love to compete, we're looking for some highly competitive
people.
Why Should I Join?
Why not? This club is here for you,
the students. It is here to make your college experience
fun and rewarding. It's a great place to meet friends and
network with people who have the same interests as you do.
Simply put, it's fun!!! Just ask any of the members, and
they will tell you what great memories and experiences they've
had themselves. So, why not give us a try? You have NOTHING
to lose, and friends and memories to gain . . .
